Authors | William Ledbetter
Born in 1961 Indiana, William Ledbetter wrote stories throughout his childhood, but didn't gain fame until his 11th grade Literature teacher read one of his science fiction stories aloud to the class. Amid the snickers and rolled eyes, were a couple whispers of "cool!" Even though he received an A/F on the short story assignment (an A for the story and a F for the grammar) that little bit of praise was enough to hook him forever. Today he lives near Dallas, Texas with a very understanding wife, the one kid who has still not left the nest and way too many animals. He's working diligently on a novel trilogy about the violent birth of a new humanity and he is an active member of the National Space Society.

Sam gripped the cargo locks on the floor as tightly as he could, but still swayed back and forth each time the Osprey zigged or zagged along its radar-avoiding slalom course. A frustrated Ernie Ochoa tried to mount a defensive pod on one of Sam's three attachment points.
