Kevin Haw splits his time between writing computer code and speculative fiction. While the former pays better, he has found that the latter is much more fun and is not nearly as strict when it comes to punctuation. He makes his home in Fullerton, California with his wife JoAnn. His work has appeared in Dragon and Black Gate and he has a story in Fantasist's upcoming "Bash Down the Door and Slice Open the Bad Guy" anthology.

He drew his inspiration for "Technical Exchange" from all those stories where aliens discover Earth on page one and everyone's driving flying cars with super duper technology by page three. He always thought that the stuff that occurs on page two deserved a little more detail.
