Authors | Chet Gottfried

Having distracted himself for too many years with illustration, design, composition, fonts, editing, and the nitty-gritty that goes into publications, Chet Gottfried promised himself to concentrate on that which is most important to him: writing. To that end he has had a variety of story publications in a variety of places, from Asimov's SF to Read by Dawn and has become a member of SFWA.

He doesn't live by pen or keyboard alone, and has traveled extensively to many favorite places, including Iceland, the English Lake District, and the U.S. Southwest. An avid photographer for many years, Chet switched to digital SLRs, although his hard disks tend to complain about the increased burden.

With his wife Sue and three cats, Chet is presently living in State College, Pennsylvania, opposite a game land which fulfills his needs for hiking and nature photography.

His website lookoutnow.com features nearly a thousand pages of photographs, artwork, cartoons, and what have you, including a number of online games varying from a version of Mancala to the retro Paper Ships.

From:

Navajos sat behind tables and sold jewelry and pots. Behind them the Colorado River meandered in the distance, a thin, dark streak on an endless plain.
